Telecom

Telecommunications expertise, from infrastructure to operations.

Through E4 Connect, our rural telecommunications carrier serving communities across three states, we bring the perspective of an operator, not just a consultant. Our experience spans network engineering, outside plant, field operations, broadband deployment, permitting, regulatory compliance, grant programs, customer operations, and the full back office required to run a modern carrier — from planning and funding through construction, activation, and ongoing operations.

Insight

An industry under pressure

Support programs are declining and evolving, broadband funding carries greater reporting obligations, and specialized positions can take a year or more to fill.

Independent carriers that thrive operate with clear accountability, documented processes, and metrics reviewed weekly. It is the model we operate at E4 Connect and the discipline we bring to every engagement.

Proven at

E4 Connect

A rural telecommunications carrier serving communities in three states. Every process at E4 Connect was built using Six Sigma, the same approach we bring to clients.

The E4 Core model

Share the departments, not the company.

Support revenue is flat or falling and under active federal review. Operating costs are not. The functions a carrier cannot go without cost close to the same whether the company serves three thousand access lines or three hundred thousand — on the back-office side, regulatory, accounting, information technology, and cybersecurity; on the field side, fiber and copper plant expertise, equipment and switching knowledge, and the construction management a build or upgrade requires.

That leaves two options, and most carriers are doing both. Carry full departments the company cannot keep busy, or send the work to consultants and contractors at rates that assume a single small carrier has no leverage.

There is more than one way to close that gap, and a carrier does not have to pick the deepest one first. The goal either way is the same: work every angle on operating cost while building the strategy to maximize every revenue stream the carrier has.

What's in scope

“A shared department only works if everyone runs the same way — and that is only asked of the carriers who join it.”

  1. Back office Accounting, payroll, and accounts payable, run once, on one platform, by people who do the work every day rather than a few times a month.
  2. Regulatory and compliance Filings, reporting, and program obligations handled by a team that prepares them for several carriers, not one that sees each form once a year.
  3. Purchasing and vendor terms One negotiated relationship with licensed engineering firms, contractors, and software vendors across the group instead of each carrier negotiating alone. Licensed work stays with the licensed firm. The leverage stops sitting with the vendor.
  4. Field and network expertise Fiber and copper plant work, equipment, and central office and switching knowledge, covered by people who work in it every day rather than a specialist a small carrier can only justify part of the year.
  5. Construction and builds Project leadership for fiber builds, central office upgrades, and other network construction, run by a team that has led builds before.
  6. Systems and platforms The same systems across the group, so a process, a report, or a person can move between carriers without being rebuilt from scratch.
  7. The bench Specialized roles no single carrier can keep busy, and that can take a year or more to fill, are covered by the group instead of going uncovered.
Four ways in

Work with us however fits the carrier

01

Let us help

Straight consulting on one thing — a filing season, an accounting clean-up, a fiber build or upgrade that needs a project lead. No commitment beyond the engagement.

02

Let us build it

We stand up the process, system, or department — back office or field — teaching your team how to build the Six Sigma processes underneath it, and hand it back to run.

03

Let us run it

We operate the function for you on an ongoing basis, building and running the Six Sigma processes ourselves, so you are not carrying a team you cannot keep fully staffed.

04

Let's team up and integrate

Join the group. Pooled departments, back office and field alike, shared across carriers running the same operating system, the same Six Sigma discipline, and the same platforms — your people trained to build those processes themselves wherever they're ready, ours building them wherever they're not. The only tier that asks a carrier to run the way the group runs.

Any of these four can also include implementing BOS and Six Sigma across the rest of the operation, if the carrier wants it. That is a separate decision from which tier fits the work in front of you today.
